The gift voucher that handles itself.
Sell at the desk in a minute, send by e-mail or text, redeem with a scan, and every voucher lands in the register by itself. Made by hoteliers, for hotels and restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium that want their gift voucher back in their own hands.

The gift voucher is your best salesperson. Why give it away?
Hotels and restaurants leave the gift voucher to national cards and experience boxes. Those take a hefty share of the revenue, put their own name on the voucher and keep the unused balance. While the numbers argue for a voucher of your own.

Buybox, gift card market around Christmasof redemptions come with an additional spend, on average 82 euro on top of the voucher.

Published rates and trade press, October 2026Three steps. The voucher does the rest.
No separate web shop, no stack of pre-printed cards in a drawer, no list for finance. One system that follows every voucher from sale to redemption. These are the real screens, recorded at the front desk of Kasteel Doenrade.

Sell, at the desk or online
Your front desk creates a voucher on one screen: a value voucher with fixed denominations or a free amount, or an experience worth a package. Name of the recipient, name of the buyer, a personal message and the payment method. Done in a minute, also on the tablet at the bar.
- Value voucher or experience, with the packages of your house
- Card, cash, on invoice, or a gift from the hotel
- A number and a code without confusing characters, even over the phone

Send the way the guest wants
By e-mail with QR and link, by text, or printed at the desk. The recipient has a voucher page of their own with the balance, the validity and a print button. No login, no app, just the code they already have.
- E-mail in your house style, with your photo, your name and your terms
- Text message for whoever prefers not to give an e-mail address
- Resend or block on loss, in one click

Redeem with a scan or the code
The guest has the QR scanned with an ordinary phone camera, or reads out the code. Your team sees the balance and validity straight away, redeems an amount or the whole balance, and the rest stays on the voucher. Expired, blocked or already used is refused, with the reason. Try it here.
- Partial redemption, remaining balance until the end date
- A mistake can be undone within fifteen minutes
- Never twice: two desks cannot redeem the same voucher at the same time
This runs in your browser; nothing is stored or sent. The real screen works the same way, with your vouchers.
What our customers make of it.
I used to write every voucher in a notebook, and at the end of the month finance worked out what was still open. Now I type a name, an amount and a short note, and the guest has the voucher in her inbox before she is out of the door.
A guest called for a voucher for her parents. I made it while she was on the line and sent it by text. She did not have to spell out an e-mail address, and I did not have to remember anything.
The remaining balance simply stays on the voucher. Guests used to call about that. Now they see it themselves on their voucher page, and the register matches what happened at the till.
Translated from Dutch.
Easy for the guest. Easy for your team.

- A voucher to give: with a photo of the house, a personal message and the recipient's name.
- Always see the balance on a page of their own, without an account or app.
- Redeem without fuss: scan or read out the code, also for a part.
Your team
- Set up in fifteen minutes: denominations, experiences, validity, sender, terms.
- No stock of cards and no numbering in a notebook.
- Search by number, name or buyer, resend, block, undo.

Every voucher in the register. No commission. No balance given away.
Work out the difference compared with the vouchers you sell today through a national card or experience box. Adjust the numbers to your house.
Assumptions: ten percent of vouchers are never redeemed (the market reckons ten to twenty); with a national card that balance goes to the issuer, with Voucello it stays with you. Voucello Pro: 49 euro per month plus 1.5 percent on vouchers sold online; desk sales cost nothing. Mollie's payment fees are not included.
- Register per property: outstanding, sold, redeemed, expired, per payment method.
- Csv export for the month-end close and the VAT return, soon the daily journal entry in Exact Online.
- Multi-purpose voucher: VAT on redemption, expiry without VAT, kept neatly apart.
- You are the issuer and receive the money yourself. Voucello holds no funds.

The rules are built in.
Two years valid, in both countries
In the Netherlands two years has been the legal minimum for a gift voucher since 1 January 2022. Belgium has no minimum yet, but the bill announced for 2027 names two years as well. Voucello sets that term on every voucher by default; three years is possible too. The remaining balance stays until the end date and the guest sees the date on their voucher page.
VAT at the right moment
A voucher for rooms, food and drink is a multi-purpose voucher: VAT on redemption, not on sale. A voucher that is never used is released without VAT. That is what the European voucher directive says, in the Netherlands and in Belgium. The register keeps sales, redemptions and expiry apart.
Your money stays your money
You are the issuer of the voucher and receive the payment yourself. Voucello holds no funds and does not come between you and your guest. That keeps things simple, also for the regulator. Read the terms (in Dutch).
Not to be guessed, not to be copied
Twelve-character codes from a secure generator, without 0, O, 1 and I. Every redemption is one indivisible, logged action with who, where and when. A lost voucher is blocked in one click.
What hoteliers ask us.
How long is a Voucello voucher valid?
Two years by default. In the Netherlands that has been the legal minimum since 1 January 2022 (article 6:236 under t of the Civil Code); in Belgium two years is the term in the bill announced for 2027. Each property can set three years. Any remaining balance stays available until the end date.
Does Voucello work in Belgium?
Yes. Voucello is built for hotels and restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium. VAT rules for vouchers are European and the same in both countries, the default validity of two years meets Dutch law and the Belgian bill, and once online sales go live, Belgian guests pay with Bancontact. This page also exists in Dutch and French; the guest's voucher page and e-mails are in Dutch today, French and English follow before online sales.
Who receives the money from a sold voucher?
The property itself. The hotel or restaurant is the issuer of the voucher; Voucello holds no funds. Unredeemed vouchers stay one hundred percent with the property.
What about VAT on gift vouchers?
A voucher redeemable for rooms, food and drink is a multi-purpose voucher: VAT becomes due only on redemption, and a voucher that is never redeemed is released without VAT. That follows from the European voucher directive and applies in the Netherlands and Belgium. An experience with a single fixed rate may be a single-purpose voucher; check with your accountant. Voucello keeps sales, redemptions and expiry apart in the register.
How does a guest redeem a voucher?
The guest has the QR code scanned with an ordinary phone camera or reads out the code. The team sees the balance, redeems an amount or the whole balance, and the rest stays on the voucher. A mistake can be undone within fifteen minutes. Try it above.
Does Voucello work with our PMS and our till?
Today Voucello runs inside Innworth, the cockpit for hotels and restaurants, with e-mail, text and printing at the desk. Automatic redemption on the guest folio in Mews and in the till (Lightspeed, booq) and the daily posting to Exact Online are in development.
Can guests buy the voucher online too?
Yes. Every property has its own purchase page: the guest picks an amount or an experience, the recipient and the delivery (by e-mail now or on a date, by text, or to themselves) and pays with iDEAL, Bancontact or card via Mollie, straight into the property's account. Business customers order several vouchers, on invoice if they wish. The statutory fourteen-day right of withdrawal is built in. The purchase page is in Dutch today; English follows.
What does Voucello cost?
Starter for a hotel or restaurant with one property: 0 euro per month plus 2.9% per voucher sold online. Pro: 49 euro per property per month plus 1.5%. Chain, more than eight properties: 29 euro per property per month plus 1%. Prices exclude VAT; Mollie's payment fees are extra.
